HOW I DO THINGS

my philosophy.

I’m gonna be up-front with you. beautiful photographs are the BEST and I’ve spent years on years on years perfecting my art, but honestly? one of the most important things to me is that I can call my couples my friends. that I know them well enough to know that capturing their dance parties is top priority. that getting pictures of you and your grandad is super important to you. that you can feel relaxed enough in front of me to get real with each other and just be yourselves.

my style.

my style is relaxed, informal, unposed, not in the least bit rushed, and weddings with me always end with hugs and laughter and sadness because the day is over. I ask questions, get you to ask each other questions, play music during your portraits, dance, tell lotsa stupid jokes, but most of the time, I just stand back and let you love each other while I document quietly. sometimes, you might even completely forget I’m there, and I can pretty much promise you that you’ll have one heck of a good time.

my favourite kinda weddings are the intimate ones. the ones where you only want your nearest and dearest there. the ones where memories and people and love and adventure are more important than perfection. so if you are planning your wedding day and you care more about making the day memorable (even if it means getting your dress muddy or dancing in the rain or jumping into the ocean) than the stresses of making the day “perfect”, then we will work freakin amazingly together.

I live, laugh, love in Christchurch, New Zealand - I'm british born, but kiwi raised and I love bring able to call Canterbury my home!
I travel ALL over for weddings though so make sure you keep an eye on my travel schedule!
Yup, I definitely do! I only shoot a limited amount of family sessions so if you wanna book one in, make sure you get in quick!
6-8 weeks is the usual timeframe for wedding galleries during my busy season! But you'll receive up to 50 sneak peeks within 48hrs of your wedding day so you have lotsa memories to look through while you wait for your full gallery <3
Sessions are usually 4 weeks in my busy season.
It depends on the location, but generally if it's a destination that includes a flight, it'll cost the price of flights, car rental (if necessary), accommodation for 2 nights, and petrol. If your wedding day includes travel, I will make up a unique package for you with travel costs included!
I've been shooting and working as a photographer for 10 years, but full time for 5 years. I love love love it.
My contract requires that I get fed one full meal on a wedding day - which is usually when you sit down to eat your meal at your reception. You just need to add me to your caterers list!

Yup, I definitely do! I've rarely booked a wedding without meeting my clients beforehand. I think it's super important to meet and have yarns (whether that's in person or on facetime!) so you feel confident that I'm the right fit for your wedding day.
I ABSOLUTELY AM. Even though I'm annoyingly+boringly straight, I'm 10000% here for your wedding day, whoever you love.

Nopity nope. My editing is a huge part of my skill + job + joy - I take a lotta pride in making sure I choose and edit the best of the best from your wedding day or session! Also, trust me on this one, you do not want 4000 RAW images.
Just contact me through my contact form and I'll email you back with a fun wedding guide and my availability! Then we'll organise to have a meeting (either over facetime or in person) over coffee/drinkies/fries and we'll chat through all your wedding day plans. Then, if you're ready to book, I'll send you the online booking proposal which will take you to your fancy schmancy client portal! You'll pay a 30% deposit to secure your date and then make the rest of the payments in two instalments leading up to the wedding.
